Packing list for a Utah jet ski day
Short list. Nothing fancy. Do not overthink it.
What we provide
-
Jet ski (obviously)
-
Two life jackets per machine (add extras when you book if three will ride)
-
Trailer and safety chains
-
Gas cans on request (machines go out with an empty tank, so fill up on your way to the lake). Refueling from a can? Pull the machine out of the water and away from the ramp first, and follow the marina’s rules.
-
Kill switch lanyard
What to bring
-
A tow vehicle with a 2-inch trailer hitch and a flat 4-prong light hookup (pickup rentals; we hitch our trailer for you at no extra charge)
-
Driver’s license: we verify at pickup
-
Proof of vehicle insurance: required to rent
-
Proof of Utah’s annual boating safety course (required from January 1, 2027): a copy on your phone is fine, and keep it with you on the water. No proof? We’ll go through the state’s safety briefing with you at pickup.
-
Your rental agreement: keep the copy from your Recreogo booking on your phone. Utah’s rules say anyone renting a motorboat carries one on board.
-
Credit card: for the refundable $500 damage hold per machine
-
Closed-toe water shoes: flip-flops fly off and we have all seen it happen
-
Sunscreen: reapply every 90 minutes; water reflects brutally in Utah summer
-
Water + snacks: there are no concessions on the water
-
Dry bag: for phones, keys, wallets. Critical.
-
A towel: you are going to get wet
Nice-to-haves
-
Sunglasses with a strap (polarized if you have them)
-
A change of dry clothes for the drive back
-
A GoPro with a floating wrist strap (never use the standard wrist strap; it sinks)
What not to bring
-
Large hard coolers (space is tight; soft-sided is better)
-
Alcohol for the operator (Utah DUI laws apply the same on water as road)
-
Pets (our machines are people-only)
That is it. Call us if anything is unclear; we would rather you ask than show up missing something. Book your day.
