Blue Wave Jet Ski Rentals is a family-run Sea-Doo rental shop at 901 S. 1800 W in Woods Cross, Utah, renting jet skis from $235 a day before taxes and fees.

That puts our pickup right in Davis County, and we’ve been here a while: Blue Wave operated from Kaysville from 2014 to 2023, then moved to Woods Cross. If you live in Bountiful, North Salt Lake, Centerville, Farmington, Kaysville, Layton, Clearfield or Syracuse, you’re a short drive away. Pick up a Sea-Doo and its trailer here, then tow it to the freshwater lake you choose.

How far is pickup from your town?

We checked each drive in Google Maps on October 7, 2026, from each town to our shop:

  • North Salt Lake: 3.5 miles, about 8 minutes
  • Bountiful: 3.3 miles, about 9 minutes
  • Centerville: 5.9 miles, about 11 minutes
  • Farmington: 8.7 miles, about 12 minutes
  • Kaysville: 14.1 miles, about 16 minutes
  • Layton: 15.4 miles, about 17 minutes
  • Clearfield: 20.1 miles, about 22 minutes
  • Syracuse: 20.8 miles, about 22 minutes

Traffic can stretch those, so leave a little room in your morning.

The closest lakes to our shop

  • Pineview Reservoir (36 miles, about 40 minutes): mountain water in Ogden Valley, wide and open through the middle, with room for a first-timer to settle in. In 2026 the Port Ramp Marina closed for reconstruction, Anderson Cove’s launch closed July 20 for low water, and from August 31 the reservoir was closed to motorized boats, so check the Forest Service’s ramp status before you tow. Our Pineview page links it.
  • Willard Bay (40 miles, about 40 minutes): nearly 10,000 acres of open freshwater straight up I-15. Ride it in the morning, before the wind builds. On October 5, 2026, Utah State Parks (opens in a new tab) listed both marina ramps closed (launch at your own risk) for low water, so check before you tow.
  • East Canyon (47 miles, just under an hour): a small, sheltered canyon lake that’s easy on first-time riders. On September 17, 2026, the park (opens in a new tab) reported its ramp down to one lane, so check current conditions before you go.
  • Jordanelle (47 miles, about 50 minutes): deep blue mountain water near Park City. It deserves the whole day.

One note for locals: our machines aren’t allowed in salt water, including the Great Salt Lake, so we point you to the freshwater lakes above instead. Every lake we serve is on our lakes page.

Make a weekend of it

Planning a full day at Jordanelle, or a trip up to Bear Lake? A lot of our riders pick the Sea-Doos up the evening before on a multi-day rental, drive up on their own clock, and roll into the ramp early the next morning rested instead of rushed. Multi-day discounts start on rentals of 3 or more days, and you can hold a multi-day rental with a 50% deposit (the balance is processed 2 days before pickup). See pricing.

Before you head out

  • Your tow vehicle: it needs a 2-inch hitch and a flat 4-prong light hookup. We hitch our trailer to it at no extra charge.
  • Paperwork: a valid driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance. You must be 18 or older to rent and to drive.
  • The 2027 boating course: from January 1, 2027, Utah requires every driver to take a short boating safety course once each calendar year (HB 54 (opens in a new tab)). It takes under 20 minutes on average. Bring proof, or we’ll go through the state’s safety briefing with you at pickup, and keep the proof with you on the water. Our course breakdown has the details.
  • Fuel: the machines go out with an empty tank and come back empty, so plan a gas stop on the way to the lake. Gas cans are available on request; if you refuel from one, pull the machine out of the water and away from the ramp first, and follow the marina’s own rules.
  • AIS stops: stop at any AIS inspection station that’s open, at the lake or on the road. When it’s closed, clean and drain the machine before you leave the water, and always tow with the drain plug out. We hand the machines over clean and drained.

Why pick up off-lake?

Because you pick the machines up from us in town, there’s no rental counter to wait at once you get there. You still share the public ramp, so on a busy weekend, get there early. First time on a jet ski? We walk you through the controls at pickup, and the GTX PRO 130 is the one we put first-timers on. Compare our three Sea-Doo models on the fleet page, and see how pickup goes in our pickup walkthrough.

No tow vehicle? Book delivery instead (details at the top of this page).

Before you launch: from January 1, 2027, Utah requires an annual boating safety course for every driver, visitors from out of state included. Bring proof or we'll brief you at pickup, and every machine goes out clean, drained, and AIS-compliant.
